The Indiana Fire Juniors employs a full-time Director of Sports Perforamance and Athletic Training as part of our sponsorship agreement with IU Health/Methodist Sports Medicine. Meet Nathan Hills:
Nathan graduated from Manchester College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and later graduated from Ball State University with a MA in Physical Education. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a Certified Sports Performance Coach through United States Weightlifting. He is also certified to perform both the Functional Movement Screen and Selective Functional Movement Assessment. He has spent the last several years as a Sports Performance Coach working with athletes of all ages (youth-adult) and abilities (beginner-professional).
Meet Sierra Garber:
Sierra graduated from University of Indianapolis in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. While obtaining her Master’s degree she worked for two years at Southwestern College as an Assistant Athletic Trainer before graduating in 2015 with a Masters in Education. While at Southwestern College she primarily worked as the Athletic Trainer for their NAIA men’s and women’s soccer teams. Following graduate school she worked closely with Orthopedic Physicians in the clinical setting and provided sports medicine coverage at multiple high schools in Indiana. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and Licensed to practice in Indiana.
